Firstly we would like to thank all of our guests and friends for their support and patience during these uncertain times, and hope you are all keeping safe and well.
As you are probably aware France is currently in a state of lockdown in an attempt to slow and prevent further infection of the COVID-19 virus.
Currently in France permits are required (and regularly checked) if you wish to venture out, even to get some much needed basic food supplies. French Authorities have advised they will only allow travel and outings for a very limited number of reasons which does not include HOLIDAYS OR SOCIAL VISITS.
We do advise in our terms and conditions (clause 6) that comprehensive travel insurance should be taken out, including cancellation cover, as refunds will only be given if we can re-let your booked week.
HOWEVER, we are living through extremely unusual times and these are unprecedented circumstances. Therefore if you cannot travel because there are travel restrictions imposed by either French or UK governments (as is at the time of writing) or ferries/trains have been cancelled, we WILL let anyone who does not have insurance cover to change their existing booking to another week free of charge.
Either a new date later this year (assuming travel bans are lifted) or an available week next year, when hopefully some normality has been restored.
PLEASE NOTE: Initially we will ONLY look to amend current bookings that are scheduled between now and the end of June, and will of course monitor the situation as it progresses. HOPEFULLY the situation improves and many of you will still be able to visit this year.
If you wish to amend a booking please email us at firslakefrance@gmail.com and we will do everything we can to help.
We are NOT currently taking new booking for the 2020 season, however, we are taking new bookings for the 2021 season.
The website has been updated to include the calendar for the 2021 season.
We know lots of you are really looking forward to your holiday in the peace and quiet the lake and house offers and we’re hoping you’ll have this to look forward to once we have all got through this trying time.
Above all else, please stay safe.
Tony, Claire and Jan – Firs Lake France
